We escaped for an early anniversary trip up to Santa Barbara. It was hard to tell what made Jason happier -- riding the train up there or eating at three Triple Ds while we were there. I have to admit that it's a really nice train ride. Leaving San Diego we are right on the water all the way up to San Clemente. It's a bit less scenic through the industrial parts of LA, but returns to the water for the last stretch. Gorgeous. We even spotted dolphins in the water from the train.
We had no real plans for the weekend except to eat at as many of Guy Fieri's Triple Ds as possible. We visited three (and then we so disappointed when we found out after we got home that there was a fourth -- oh well, a reason to visit again).
We spent the rest of our time walking around the beach, along the pier and harbour, and up State St., the main drag in town. It was a nice little relaxing weekend.
